Background and Analysis:

Background and Analysis did not change from first to second reading.

 

Over the past two years City offices have needed to be flexible regarding the hours of operation due to the changing emergency response to the COVID-19 pandemic. The current code establishes set hours of operation. The Ordinance will allow the City Manager to establish City office hours to address situational issues.

 

Neighborhood/Community Interests (if known):

The entire community has an interest in the operating hours of City offices.  Most City services are available on-line or by telephone; however, some customers prefer visiting City offices in person.

 

Options:

1.                     Approve the Ordinance amending Olympia Municipal Code 2.68.00 to change the designated City office hours to be established at the discretion of the City Manager.

2.                     Direct staff to amend the Ordinance based on Council feedback.

3.                     Do not take any action.
