Approval of Fireworks Permit for Lakefair
Issue:
The City Council must approve the permit for Public Fireworks Displays within the City. We are requesting that the Council provide on-going approval for permits for this annual event unless changes occur with the display producer.

Background and Analysis:
RCW 70.77.280 requires that the Fire Department investigate the character and location of the display for hazards to persons and property, and the permit must be approved by the City Council. Based on the application and investigation, the applicant meets the requirements for operator licenses and insurance.
