Background:
Based on Civil Service Rule IV: Examinations, initial eligibility lists were established with candidates who submitted a letter of interest to Fire Chief Hillory Flowers and/or Deputy Fire Chief Chad Boulay and met the qualifications of Assistant Chief of Training. The Assistant Chief of Training is an assignment within the Fire Department rank of Assistant Chief. One (1) candidate submitted their letter of interest and one (1) met qualifications. One (1) candidate was invited to a promotional assessment. The promotional assessment consisted of two (2) assessment areas. These areas were a structured interview and a written assignment. The written assignment was provided to the candidate in advance and was tied into the interview through a question in which they were asked to present the information in their written assignment.
One (1) candidate was Male. One (1) candidate was White/Caucasian.
The promotional assessment was assessed by the following personnel:
