Background and Analysis:
On December 19, 2011, the City of Olympia entered into an Interlocal Agreement Between the Cities of Lacey, Olympia, and Tumwater and Thurston County, Relating to Health and Human Services to dissolve the previous Human Services Review Council (HRSC) entity that had been in place since 1982. As part of the 2011 Interlocal Agreement (HHSC), the parties agreed to establish a planning committee for the purposes of forming a new county-wide health and human services coordinating entity. This Interlocal Agreement was to commence on January 1, 2012. The Health and Human Service Planning Committee (HHSC) has been meeting at regular intervals since February 2012.
Amended HHSC Interlocal Agreement. The proposed Amended HHSC Interlocal Agreement acknowledges that the original Interlocal Agreement anticipated future additions to the Council of the South County cities of Yelm, Tenino, Rainier and Bucoda. The Amended agreement proposes to add these cities to the Council, along with Thurston County, Olympia, Lacey and Tumwater.
