Background and Analysis:
City of Olympia’s Rules of Procedure for Advisory Committees, Boards, and Commissions Created by Ordinance and Appointed by the Olympia City Council, 2.c. Election of Officers, requires that “…officers of the committee shall consist of a Chair and Vice Chair or Co-Chairs selected from members of the committee by consensus or by a majority vote if consensus cannot be reached. The officers shall be selected at the committee’s regular meeting in November or December. The officers shall serve for a one-year term of office beginning in January.” The Heritage Commission elects its Chair and Vice Chair on an annual basis.
