Recommended Action
Committee Recommendation:
The Community Livability and Public Safety Committee approved the staff recommendation to repeal Olympia Municipal Code 2.38, Police Auditor and replace the Chapter with City Council's approved recommendations from the Social Justice and Equity Commission for the role of Civilian Police Auditor and directed staff to forward to the City Council for adoption.

City Manager Recommendation:
Move to approve as amended from first reading to second reading, an ordinance repealing Olympia Municipal Code 2.38, Police Auditor and replacing the chapter with City Council approved recommendations from the Social Justice and Equity Commission for the role of Civilian Police Auditor.

Background and Analysis:
Background and analysis has changed from first to second reading.

At the November 19 Council meeting, the City Council passed on first reading, and forwarded to second reading, the Ordinance as amended. The City Council requested the Ordinance language to include "in good standing" to the requirements of the Police Auditor when the ordinance comes back for second reading.
