Background and Analysis:

The Washington State Auditor awarded the City of Olympia with the Washington State Auditor’s Stewardship Award (SASA).  The Award recognizes the City of Olympia staff for their consistent, demonstrated culture of accountability to citizens. 

 

In particular the Auditor’s Office has acknowledged Senior Accountant Stacie Tellers for serving on the Local Government Advisory Committee for the past two years, demonstrating her strong commitment to improving accounting and reporting for local governments and assisting in implementing complex accounting standards for local governments. 

 

The Auditor’s Office also acknowledged Assistant City Manager Jay Burney, Assistant Community Planning and Development Director Leonard Bauer, Senior Planner Stacey Ray, Public Works Director Rich Hoey, and Public Works Assistant Director Debbie Sullivan for working tirelessly to implement the following practices:

 

                     Aligning business operational goals and investments

                     Focusing on customer needs and creating public value

                     Cultivating managers and leaders committed to measuring, reporting and improving results

                     Inspiring a culture of curiosity, creativity and organizational health
