On August 20, 2026, the City and the Police Guild reached a tentative agreement on a one-year extension of the current 2024–2026 Collective Bargaining Agreement, which expires December 31, 2026. The extension would continue the agreement through December 31, 2027.

The extension follows a lengthy bargaining process during which the prior agreement remained expired. Cost-of-Living Adjustment (COLA): 3.5 percent effective January 1, 2027.
Retention Bonus: A one-time $5,000 bonus for eligible employees, payable during the first pay period of 2027.
