Background and Analysis:
The Parks, Arts and Recreation Plan was adopted by City Council in February 2016. During the planning process the City refined the number of acres needed for Neighborhood Parks, Community Parks, and Open Space. While the Parks, Arts and Recreation Plan remains consistent with the goals and policies of the comprehensive plan, the text in the Public Health, Arts, Parks and Recreation chapter needs updating to ensure consistency between the two plans.
Neighborhood/Community Interests (if known):
There was substantial public involvement in both the comprehensive plan and parks planning processes. However, there have been no public comments related to this proposal to update the comprehensive plan to ensure consistency between the two plans at the time of writing this staff report. The written public comment period extends through Friday, June 10, 2016. Any public comments received by June 10, 2016 will be forwarded to the Planning Commission at their June 20th meeting.
