Committee Recommendation:
General Government Committee reviewed similar procedures in 2012 and recommended Guideline amendment.
City Manager's Recommendation:
If Council wishes to adopt a Statement of Expectations regarding roles and procedures, move to amend the Council Guidelines to include the Statement in Section 2.

Affirmation Statement Drafted by Mayor Pro Tem Jones.
Mayor Pro Tem Nathaniel Jones recently drafted a statement affirming Councilmember expectations for roles and procedures. Council agreed to schedule time on this evening's agenda to review and discuss the proposal.
If Council wishes to adopt a Statement of Expectations, staff recommends amending Council Guidelines to insert the statement in its entirety within Section 2.1 of the Council Guidelines. During a future Guidelines review, General Government Committee could discuss whether to retain the Statement in a single location or incorporate aspects of it in other sections of the Guidelines.
