Background and Analysis:
The CNA grew out of the City's Recognized Neighborhood Associations to better represent and address common issues. The CNA worked with the City to draft an MOU to formalize their role in City planning processes and programs. The City Council conceptually approved the MOU on June 5, 2012.  The City Attorney has now finalized his review and approval of the MOU as attached hereto.

Neighborhood/Community Interests (if known):
The Coalition of Neighborhood Associations (CNA) includes members of most recognized neighborhood associations. The CNA seeks to formalize their relationship with the City to increase public involvement and improve City programs. All recognized neighborhood associations were informed of the June 5 City Council meeting at which the MOU was discussed.

Options:
1. Approve the MOU as drafted
2. Do not approve the MOU
3. Amend the MOU
Financial Impact:
The financial impact depends upon existing and future staff capacity to coordinate the work described in the MOU.
