Background:
Based on Civil Service Rule V, Registers, Initial Eligibility Lists, initial eligibility lists were established with candidates who applied and met the assigned criteria for the Fire Captain position. Three (3) candidates applied, and three (3) candidates were invited to participate in the written exam. Three (3) candidates passed the written exam, and three (3) candidates were invited to interview/presentation. Three (3) candidates participated in the in the interview/presentation and two (2) candidates passed the interview/presentation. Two (2) candidates have been placed on the register.
Two (2) candidates were Male, and two (2) candidates were White/Caucasian. The interview panel consisted of OFD Acting Captain-Medical Services Officer Troy Churchwell, OFD Lieutenant Shane Dobson, OFD Firefighter/Paramedic Elliott Townsend, OFD Admin Stephanie Porter, and Teri Prather (community member). OFD Assistant Chief Chad Boulay and HR Analyst Telli Norton were also present in moderator roles.
Findings:
Two (2) candidates passed the interview and have been placed on the register in accordance with scores of 83.04-90.84.
