Background and Analysis:
Every year, the Planning Commission holds a public hearing on and makes a recommendation on the City's 6-year CFP, and writes a letter of recommendation to the City Council. The Commission's Finance Subcommittee reviews the CFP, meets with staff to ask questions, and brings forward issues to the full Commission for discussion and a final recommendation.

This year the Commission will also review and make a recommendation on the 20-year CFP goals and policies, which are located in Volume III of the City's current Comprehensive Plan. The Commission will be reviewing a newly edited version of these goals and policies (edited for consistency with the City's "Plain Talk" standards for the Comprehensive Plan).

Last year, the City Council also asked the Subcommittee and Commission to draft a recommendation letter in regard to a Long-Range Community Development Investment Strategy (LCDIP). This year, the Mayor has asked the Subcommittee and Commission to further explore this concept and make subsequent recommendations. The scope of this work will be described by Chair Horn at the meeting.
