Move to approve the certification of the Promotional Firefighter/Paramedic Register effective September 19th, 2019.

Background and Analysis:
Based on Civil Service Rule V, Registers, Firefighter/Paramedic Promotional Register, firefighter Reid Hamblet qualifies for the register based on his successful completion of an accredited paramedic training program which has been approved by the Thurston County Medical Program Director and approval by the Thurston County Medical Program Director to function as a Firefighter/Paramedic in Thurston County. Firefighter Hamblet holds the rank of firefighter and has successfully completed the probationary period for firefighter.
• Olympia Fire Department submitted documentation from Tacoma Community College of Firefighter Hamblet’s course completion and documentation of his state paramedic certification from the Washington State Department of Health.
• Reid successfully passed the National Registry Paramedic Exam
• Reid successfully passed TCMO advance life support protocol exam
• Reid had to ride 10 shifts as a third medic on OFD’s medic unit
• Reid successfully passed the Medical Program Directors Oral Assessment
Findings: Firefighter Reid Hamblet qualifies and has been placed on the Firefighter/Paramedic Promotional Register.
