Background and Analysis:
The City entered into an agreement with Thurston County in 2009 to provide radio maintenance services because the City did not have in-house expertise to do this work.

The Olympia Police Department, Fire Department, Public Works, and Parks use both vehicle-mounted radios and hand-held radios while performing tasks and responding to emergencies. Having these radios in top working condition at all times is essential to employee safety and effective operations.

Thurston County performs on-site maintenance and repair work for $80/hour, excluding parts. This is a competitive price. Using Thurston County reduces vehicle down time because the City does not need to take them to an outside vendor. This service agreement renews the existing agreement.

Options:
1. Approve the Services Agreement and authorize the Mayor to sign the renewal with Thurston County for communications system maintenance. This option will allow the City to continue to minimize cost and reduce down time for critical communications systems.
