Background:
Based on Civil Service Rule V, Registers, Initial Eligibility Lists, initial eligibility lists were established with candidates who tested through Public Safety Testing for Entry-Level Firefighter and successfully passed. The top forty (40) candidates were invited to interview. Thirteen (13) candidates participated in the interview and twenty-seven (27) declined, canceled or no-showed. Nine (9) candidates passed the interview and proceeded to a chief’s interview. Six (6) candidates pass the chief’s interview. Six (6) candidates have been placed on the register.
Six (6) candidates were Male. Five (5) candidates were White/Caucasian and one (1) candidate was Two or More Races. The interview panel consisted of OFD Lieutenant Cole Linich, OFD Lieutenant Peter Gibney, OFD Firefighter Jenna Norwood, and OFD Firefighter Craig Myer. The community member for the panel called out sick the first day of interviews and no community members/admin staff were available. The chief’s interview panel consisted of OFD Deputy Fire Chief Mark Schreck and OFD Assistant Fire Chief Chad Boulay.
Findings:
Six (6) candidates successfully passed their PST test, the oral board, and the chief’s interview and have been placed on the register in accordance with scores of 72.05 - 91.42.
