Background and Analysis:
Currently, PBIA has nine active advisory board members and need to hold an election to seat an additional two members. During the June 4, 2025 PBIA Advisory Board meeting, members nominated two individuals to run in the PBIA election. City staff are sending out the election vote on August 1, 2025 and will provide a two-week voting period. New board members will be approved at the beginning of the September meeting.
Climate Analysis:
Holding an election for a new PBIA Board member does not directly impact climate goals but could influence future decisions affecting sustainability downtown.
Equity Analysis:
Holding an election for new PBIA Board members is an opportunity to ensure broader and more equitable representation of downtown stakeholders. Choosing not to hold an election could reinforce existing disparities by limiting leadership opportunities to a small or less diverse group.
