Background and Analysis:
As a follow-up from discussion at Council's goal setting retreat about ways to "enrich public participation," General Government Committee added the topic "Citizen Outreach and Participation" to its work plan this year.
In April, committee members received a briefing on the IAP2 citizen participation strategy and a preview of the City's new (at that time) social media presence.
Committee members suggested staff look at online methods for public participation and report back to the committee before the end of the year. Staff will demonstrate new online tools available for our use through the City's contracted services with Granicus.
