Background and Analysis:
The Art Crossing and Murals in Park Projects are on the 2026 Municipal Art Plan. Staff has been developing the Calls for Art and is scheduled for a meeting with the Council’s Community Livability and Public Safety (CLIPS) Committee on August 26, for review before opening the opportunities.
This meeting is for a line by line review of the draft Calls for Art, so that Staff can take feedback and provide more complete versions at the August 13 meeting for recommendation to the CLIPS Committee.
Climate Analysis:
These public art projects should not significantly impact the climate.
Equity Analysis:
Reviewing the Calls for Art allow for opportunity to build representation into the process, through the jury, neighborhood outreach, and distribution of the Calls for Art.
Neighborhood/Community Interests (if known):
Staff will be presenting the Art Crossing project to the Coalition of Neighborhood Associations on July 13 and will follow up with individual Associations and neighborhood communities.
