Background and Analysis:
In 2016, the City contracted with Robert W. Droll Landscape Architect to conduct an Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) transition plan for Olympia’s park system. The purpose of the Transition Plan is to assess Olympia’s park system to determine what improvements might be necessary to ensure that all park facilities are compliant under ADA. Once complete, the transition plan will be utilized to prioritize ADA improvements.
The assessment is now complete. The estimated cost to bring the park system into compliance is approximate $3.6 million.
