Whether to receive an update on the Parks Capital Asset Management Program since the last presentation to the Finance Committee on July 8, 2015.

Background and Analysis:
The Olympia Parks, Arts and Recreation Department (OPARD) has developed a management approach to park maintenance called the Capital Asset Management Program (CAMP). This data-driven process has two tracks, Condition Assessment and Workforce Management. Staff will share the progress made in each track as outlined below:
1. Condition Assessment - Staff will review the approach to park condition rating, how the rating results in park improvement projects that are then funded in the City's Capital Facilities Plan (CFP).
2. Workforce Management - Staff will explain how the park maintenance management plans and maintenance service levels drive work force assignment and resources funded through the City's Operating Budget.

In the survey conducted for the Parks, Arts and Recreation Plan in 2015 and during the 2016 campaign for the Olympia Metropolitan Park District, the community clearly emphasized that the City needs to "take care of what we have." The effort to improve the City's park maintenance management over the last year, demonstrates OPARD's commitment to efficiently and effectively maintain the public's investment.
