Background and Analysis:
The State Department of Commerce's Community and Economic Revitalization Board has $5,000,000 in grant funds to allocate for various economic development projects.  One of the project categories is Planning Grants.  The City's proposed Community Renewal Area is a planning and economic development process.  City Council has set aside $80,000 for this project.  A CERB Planning Grant in the amount of $25,000 would provide for expanding the scope of the consultant work to include additional site design and project feasibility work in association with the development of the Community Renewal Area Plan. The CERB meets on July 19, 2012, to consider grant applications.
