Briefing on Comprehensive Plan Update

Issue:
The Planning Commission has completed its draft update to the Comprehensive Plan. The Council is expected to adopt a final plan by June 2014. A briefing will be provided on these final steps in the adoption of the Comprehensive Plan and BPAC's opportunity to provide Council with comments.

Background and Analysis:
The City initiated an update to the Comprehensive Plan in 2009. BPAC has provided comments on prior drafts of the updated plan. The Planning Commission (OPC) has now finished its updated draft of the plan. Council has indicated their intent to adopt the final draft of the Comprehensive Plan by June 2014. The Council will be accepting comments on the OPC draft over the next several months. On January 21, 2014, Council will discuss the public comment process and the timeline for their deliberation.
This BPAC briefing will provide an overview of the final OPC draft, an update on the Council's January 21st discussion, and a review of staff's response to the Planning Commission draft.
