Background and Analysis:
City Council deliberated on the May 28th version of the Shoreline Master Program at its May 28th meeting and directed staff to make certain modifications to the May 28th draft. The City Council also directed staff to release the modified draft for a public hearing scheduled for June 18, 2013. Due to the complexity of the Shoreline Master Program, this special meeting is being held to consider extending the public hearing date to allow for additional time prior to a public hearing for review of the newly amended draft of the Shoreline Master Program and to consider whether to provide any additional public communication to further explain the substance of the final draft.
