Recommended Action
Committee Recommendation:
The Community and Economic Revitalization Committee moved to recommend the Urban Design Workshop process to City Council.

City Manager Recommendation:
Conduct Urban Design Workshop as proposed by ECONorthwest and Fregonese and Associates.

Issue:
Conduct an Urban Design Workshop in conjunction with the Citizens Advisory Committee (CAC) and Isthmus Area property owners. After the April 5 workshop, the Committee agreed to hold a follow-up meeting on April 16 to allow CAC members who were not available on the 5th to attend.

Background and Analysis:
City Council heard a report from the Community and Economic Revitalization Committee (CERC) at the March 18, 2014 City Council meeting regarding the proposed Urban Design Workshop. At this meeting, City Council agreed to move forward with the Urban Design Workshop and Community Renewal Area planning process generally as is outlined in ECONorthwest's February 11, 2014 memorandum (Attachment 2). Following the Urban Design Workshop, the consultant team will meet with the CERC and CAC to present preliminary results from the April 5th Urban Design Workshop on May 1st. The CERC will review these materials and consider the feedback received on May 1st at their May 29th meeting and make recommendations regarding the use of these materials, next steps around public outreach and the need for additional illustrations. These recommendations will be presented to City Council at the June 10, 2014 City Council.
