Move to approve the Resolution to Adopt the 2016 City of Olympia Parks, Arts, and Recreation Plan as the Olympia Metropolitan Park District (OMPD) Plan.

The attached resolution provides for the adoption of the 2016 City of Olympia Parks, Arts, and Recreation Plan as the OMPD Plan.

Background and Analysis:
On February 9, 2016, the Olympia City Council passed a resolution adopting the 2016 Olympia Parks, Arts and Recreation Plan. The City conducted a very thorough and interactive public process over several months including a public hearing on January 12, 2016. The Plan was crafted to achieve the desired levels of service for park facilities within the document’s 20-year planning horizon. To ensure alignment, the Olympia Parks, Arts and Recreation Department (OPARD) and the OMPD should be working towards achieving the same vision and goals. This can be achieved by adopting the same plan.
