Issue:

Discuss draft online survey questions that will help inform the Storm and Surface Water Plan update.

Background and Analysis:

Storm and Surface Water Utility staff are in the process of updating the Utility’s master plan. The Utility is responsible for protecting against flooding, improving water quality, and enhancing aquatic habitat in Olympia. The Storm and Surface Water Plan will guide the Utility’s work over the next decade.

 

The online survey provides a way for community members to weigh in on the priorities for the Utility’s work. An open house is also scheduled for this summer to further refine input on the Utility’s future work efforts.   

 

Neighborhood/Community Interests (if known):

The work of the Storm and Surface Water Utility is of interest to many in the community. This survey will be the first method used to gain a sense of priorities.

 

Financial Impact:

Utility staff time for survey development and results analysis.
