Background:
Based on Civil Service Rule V, Registers, Initial Eligibility Lists, initial eligibility lists were established with candidates who passed the Public Safety Testing written and physical exams. These 26 candidates were invited to the phase 1 suitability assessment. Of those 26, 18 candidates participated in the phase 1 suitability assessment, and 8 passed. Those 8 candidates were invited to oral interviews, and 5 successfully passed the oral interviews. Twenty-three candidates were male and three were female. One candidate was Hispanic, twenty-two candidates were White/Caucasian, and three candidates were Other/Two or More Races. The interview panel consisted of OPD Officer Jason Winner, OPD Officer Javier Sola Del Vigo, and Anne Larsen, Development Manager for South Puget Sound Community College Foundation. OPD Officer Rob Beckwell sat in for Javier Sola Del Vigo for one candidate because Javier knew the candidate and did not feel he could rate him objectively.
Findings:
Five candidates passed the written exam, physical ability test, phase 1 suitability assessment and oral interview and have been placed on the register in accordance with their scores. Final ranking scores are 83.4% - 95.19%.
