Whether or not to approve payment for hearing aids for LEOFF 1 member, and if approved, for what amount.

Background:
The board must decide whether or not to approve the request for hearing aids in the amount of $2,599.98, $3,404.14, $3,800.00 or $2,500.00. He has submitted estimates from:
Costco Resound Cala 8 RIC Digital $2,599.98
Avada Bernafon Juna 9 Nano Rite $3,304.14
Miracle Ear Miracle Ear ME 3 $3,800.00
Miracle Ear Miracle Ear ME 4 $2,500.00
The member is requesting hearing aids from Miracle Ear. In accordance with LEOFF I policies and procedures, the member submitted quotes from at least two licensed audiologists. He has a current hearing test and a referral from a licensed hearing aid examiner. The hearing aids all include three-year warranties. The member has not requested hearing aids in the last three years.
