Issue:
Whether to approve payment for dental work for LEOFF member and for what amount.

Background:
The board must decide whether or not to finalize the request for dental work in the amount of $4,409. The member has a broken tooth that can lead to an infection and gum disease, causing an increased risk of coronary artery disease. This procedure helps protect from infection and general inflammation. The cost exceeds the allowable amount of $600/year for regular dental care. This is in accordance with LEOFF I policies and procedures. This request was already tentatively approved by the board.
