Background and Analysis:
On September 13, 2016, the OMPD Board adopted an Advisory Committee Charter to guide the work of the OMPD Advisory Committee. Roger Horn, the chair of the Advisory Committee, recently proposed four minor "clean-up" type changes to the charter to improve clarity (attached). The changes include:

* Changing the word "board" to "committee" when referring to the "Advisory Committee". This will help reduce confusion between references to the Advisory Committee and the OMPD Board.

* Adding language about the Committee electing a chair and vice-chair

* Currently in the section on the duties of the Committee, there is a reference to the annual report to the Board being about "adequacy of funding levels." This is proposed to be changed to "the City's compliance with the funding levels." The proposed language is the language used in section 4.1.3 of the Interlocal Agreement which describes the duties of the Advisory Committee.

* Added an additional duty of the Advisory Committee to report on any proposed amendments to the Interlocal Agreement (as per section 6.3).
