The board will consider whether or not to change policies and procedures language regarding vision services for LEOFF 1 Firefighter members.

Background:
LEOFF 1 Firefighter members expressed frustration using the current vision service provider, Davis. The board will decide whether or not to change the LEOFF 1 Disabilities Policies and Procedures for firefighter members regarding vision services by adding the following language:
“LEOFF I Firefighters may submit vision claims without going through Davis Vision. The cost of an examination must be submitted to Medical insurance first. The cost of hardware can be reimbursed without going through Davis Vision first. LEOFF I Firefighters will be reimbursed for hardware in accordance with LEOFF policies.”
