Issue:
Whether the property meets the integrity and condition requirements outlined in Olympia Municipal Code in order to be considered for individual designation on the Olympia Heritage Register.

Background and Analysis:
The City of Olympia has received an application to list 118 19th Ave SW individually in the Olympia Heritage Register (Attachment 1). The building is already designated as a Non-Contributing property in the South Capitol Neighborhood Historic District (Attachment 2). While details on why the building was not determined Contributing at the time of designation are not provided in the designation report, photographs provided in the current Register application suggest that the historical integrity of the house prior to rehabilitation may have been a factor. Current photos are provided in Attachment 3.

As the first formal stage of Register application review, the Heritage Review Committee will conduct a site visit to assess the property's overall condition (whether it is well or poorly maintained) and integrity (whether it retains the physical character that reflects its historical identity or has changed significantly) as per OMC 18.12.080 (Attachment 4).

This meeting will not include an evaluation of the overall significance of the property, which will be determined by the Heritage Commission as a whole.

1. If the property is well maintained, and

2. Which element(s) of integrity the property possesse...
