Background and Analysis:
Each year, all citizen advisory boards elect officers. As described in the Rules of Procedure (Attachment 1). For many boards this happens towards the end of the previous year. To allow for annual recruitment of new board members to be completed, the Heritage Commission typically elects its officers at the first meeting following City Council appointment of new members.
For 2017-2018, the Heritage Commission officers were:
• Katherine Kelly, Chair
• Stephen Austin, Vice Chair
Commissioner Austin’s term on the Commission ended in March 2018 so there is a vacancy for Vice Chair. Commissioner Kelly may choose to stand for reelection for the 2018-2019. All current members of the Commission are welcome to stand for election.
