The General Government Committee discussed the Community Garden Resolution at its Dec. 4, 2017, meeting and referred it on to full Council for consideration at Council’s Dec. 19, 2017, meeting.

Whether to receive an update about the progress that has been made as a result of the Community Garden Resolution approved by City Council on Dec. 19, 2017.

Background and Analysis:

At the Dec. 19, 2017, City Council meeting, the City Council passed a resolution establishing a goal to have a community garden within a half-mile of every resident. The resolution was developed and supported by representatives from Sustainable South Sound. 

 

Since that time, staff have been working with Sustainable South Sound to advance the goals of the adopted resolution. An update of those efforts will be provided at the meeting.

 

Neighborhood/Community Interests (if known):

Representatives from Sustainable South Sound initially presented this effort to the City Council, and have continued to partner with City staff.
