Issue:
The board must decide whether or not to approve payment for medical request for LEOFF 1 member and for what amount.

Background:
The board must decide whether or not to approve the request for medical treatment in the amount of $1,200. The member has duty related low back pain and has already completed physical therapy. He is requesting cranio-sacral therapy as recommended by his doctor. This medical treatment is not covered by insurance. If this treatment does not relieve the pain, the member plans to have an epidural steroid injection. The member has submitted the request in advance of the procedure in accordance with the LEOFF I policies and procedures.
