Background and Analysis:
On July 31, 2018, the City’s Finance Committee discussed options for funding increased services to address homelessness in Olympia. One idea discussed was the use of one-half of the Non-Voted Utility Tax (approximately $500,000 per year) for three years. These funds are currently used for park land acquisition. This proposal will be discussed further at an upcoming City Council meeting.
