Background and Analysis:
The City of Olympia Parks, Arts, and Recreation department plans to demolish and reconstruct the existing tennis courts and parking lot located at Woodruff Park in the fall of 2019. The courts are several decades old, and the concrete base is beyond repair.
The objective of this major maintenance project is to reconstruct the sport courts based on park user trends, redeveloping the courts into 2 tennis courts and 6 dedicated pickleball courts. Additionally, the existing parking lot that once served the old police station will be removed and reconstructed to current City standards on the opposite side of the park.
