Move to approve the certification of the Lateral Police Officer Register effective May 21, 2019.

Background:

Based on Civil Service Rule V, Registers, Initial Eligibility Lists, initial eligibility lists were established with candidates who passed the Public Safety Testing written and physical exams. Five candidates were invited to the phase 1 suitability assessment.  Four participated in the phase 1 suitability assessment, and two passed.  Two candidates were invited to oral interviews, one participated and successfully passed the oral interviews.

 

Four of the candidates were male and one was female. Two were White/Caucasian, One was African American/Black, and two were Hispanic. The interview panel consisted of OPD Officer Sean O’Brien, OPD Sergeant Paul Evers, and Nicole Potebnya - a local attorney for Tephra Law Firm.

 

Findings:

Two candidates passed the phase 1 suitability assessment and the oral interview and have been placed on the register in accordance with scores ranging 89-74.5.
