Background and Analysis:

The Volunteers in Parks program provides an opportunity for citizens to actively participate in park stewardship through park enhancement, environmental protection and program support. The Park Stewardship division oversees this work and recognizes the value of the more than 8,000 hours of volunteer effort donated each year.

At the annual volunteer recognition event, two awards are given for outstanding service in the previous year. This special recognition will honor Volunteer of the Year Jan Vleck, Park Steward at Watershed Park, and Group of the Year, Olympia Horseshoe Club.
