Background and Analysis:
The levy lid lift funded a community-based Crisis Response Team to respond to situations involving individuals in crisis. The team helps address immediate needs (e.g. housing, transportation, mental health care, basic needs) and helps individuals with problem solving. The team is dispatched and responds to calls to assist police officers and to provide a non-enforcement response to community members is crisis.

This agreement with Recovery Innovations International (RI) represents a continuation of the Crisis Response Team for the City of Olympia in response to identified need and approved funding.

Neighborhood/Community Interests (if known):
The Olympia Police Department (OPD) Crisis Response Team works with OPD and other first responders, social service agencies, individuals, medical providers, mental health providers, City outreach teams, and other involved personnel to meet the needs of individuals in a non-enforcement capacity.

Options:
1. Approve the resolution - If approved, the OPD Crisis Response Unit can move forward on schedule.
2. Modify the resolution - If modified, City legal and RI legal teams must re-negotiate terms.
3. Do not approve the resolution - If not approved, the team will be discontinued.

Financial Impact:
The cost of services performed under this agreement in 2020 will not exceed $517,056.72.
