Background and Analysis:
The City Council would like City Advisory Committees to help identify candidates to interview for vacant Committee and Commission positions. Council’s General Government Committee has asked that current PRAC members screen all applications and identify four applicants to be interviewed for the two vacant positions. Ten applications were received.
Staff proposes the following screening process:
1. Before the meeting, PRAC members evaluate each application based on 3 criteria: unique perspective, interest in parks and/or recreation facilities and programs, and community involvement. Rank each criterion 1-5.
2. Each member comes to the meeting with their top 4 candidates, which we will write up on the board.
3. The Committee will discuss the names on the board.
4. Each member will be given four dots to narrow it down to 4.
5. The four candidates with the most dots will be communicated to General Government.
General Government Committee will hold interviews in February and choose two of the candidates for appointment. The two new PRAC members will begin their terms on April 1.
