Background and Analysis:
On September 29, the City Council met in a Special Work Session to discuss actions to take related moving forward in reimagining public safety in Olympia.
During the Special Work Session, next steps and desired outcomes related to public safety were identified. The next steps included the development of an Ad Hoc Public Safety Committee comprised of Mayor Selby, Councilmember Cooper and Councilmember Gilman. The Ad Hoc Committee will continue the conversations around public safety and bring forward proposed short-term actions and work session topics to the full Council for consideration and discussion.
The Ad Hoc Committee will be developing a charter to provide scope and structure to the Committee’s work.
