Background and Analysis:

According to its bylaws, each year the board appoints a nominating committee to “select from among the members persons to stand for election as Advisory Board members.” Every year there are five seats up for election for three-year terms. Prior to September, there were a total of nine vacancies, five of which were up for election the end of the year. At its September 2nd meeting, three ratepayers (Konrad Bruns, Heather Chambers, and Alana Carr) were appointed to three of these seats, leaving two still unseated. At the same meeting, board members Rauh, David, and board chair Ruse volunteered as Nominating committee. Since then, they have found and additional three members interested in the positions. At their October meeting, two of these ratepayers (Anne Gavzer and Oliver Stormshak) were appointed to terms ending this year, and one (Melissa Hammond) was appointed to a term ending at the end of 2021.

The Nominating Committee will provide the board with its recommendation for the election to commence in late November.
