Background and Analysis:
The Public Works and Parks, Arts and Recreation Departments have the need to acquire nine vehicles. Fleet Operations recommends replacement because the ones currently in service have reached the end of their life cycle. Fleet Operations conducted extensive research for the replacements, including electric and hybrid options. At this time, there are no electric or hybrid replacement options that would meet the City's operational needs. However, we expect this will change within the next couple of years.
Utilizing a cooperative purchase contract through Washington State Department of Enterprise Services, Bud Clary Ford Hyundai of Longview, Washington, is the one vendor that could provide the replacement which best match the City's needs at the best value. The total cost of these vehicles through Bud Clary Ford Hyundai is $388,828.64.
