Background and Analysis:

The idea of installing sensory gardens came up as a part of ongoing inclusivity work. A plan for installation was developed, sites were identified and research completed to begin constructing the first garden in 2022.

In 2021, Olympia was designated as a Bee City USA. This program focuses on helping preserve pollinators and habitat. Certain requirements must be completed in the first two years of certification to assist in creating plans and opportunities for education leading to pollinator preservation improvements.
