Issue:
The BPAC work plan shows the topics the committee will work on during the upcoming year. This is an opportunity to discuss the draft work plan, make changes, accept it, and forward it to the City Council for approval.

Background and Analysis:
Process
Each year, Olympia advisory committees submit draft work plans to the City Council's Community Livability and Public Safety Committee. After reviewing the work plans, CLPS makes a recommendation to the City Council on whether to accept them. Advisory committee work plans run from April 2023 to March 2024.
Work Plan
The draft work plan includes:
* Reviewing proposed changes to the Engineering Development & Design Standards.
* Providing feedback about the upcoming Comprehensive Plan update
* Briefings about the Capital Mall Triangle project, progress in implementing the ADA Transition Plan, an update to the Street Safety Plan, and grants the City is pursuing.
These are all in addition to the committee's annual review of the Capital Facilities Plan.
The BPAC work plan interfaces with City staff's work plan. Staff can support six BPAC meetings in the calendar year of 2023.
Climate Analysis:
The BPAC's participation in several of the items on this work plan will help make Olympia easier to walk and bike in. This has the potential to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in the transportation sector.
Equity Analysis:
Making the city easier for people to walk and bike in can make it more feasible for people to get around without a car. Car ownership is costly and not everyone is able to drive.
