Background and Analysis:

From the project page linked to this staff report:

“Olympia has a long and storied music scene, and its energy continues to flow through our community and shape our identity today. The Olympia Heritage Commission has undertaken a two-year project to explore the roots of this identity by documenting important locations, ideas, and influences, and preserving the stories of Olympia's late 20th-century “Indie” independent music scene from the 1980s to the early 2000s.”

Researchers Kelsey Smith and Elaine Vradenburgh have completed the first phase of this project. Ms. Smith will bring Commissioners up to date and share future plans.

Climate Analysis:

In general the update on the Olympia Indie Music History Project will not positively or negatively impact climate and the environment.
