Background and Analysis:
Planning Commission retreats vary from year to year. The subject and structure are determined by the Commission, and staff provides logistical assistance.
On June 3, the Commission discussed ideas for their 2013 retreat. They decided to tour Olympia's Neighborhood Center zones on a Saturday. They asked staff to come back with more details for their consideration (Attachment 1).
Options:
- Review and discuss options for the retreat.
- Determine how to proceed with event planning. Consider asking the Leadership Team and staff to plan the retreat details, to be finally approval by the full Commission.
Financial Impact:
There is no specific allocation for advisory board retreats. Costs are typically included in the department's base budget. There is some money available for a facilitator or other special speaker, or a field trip.
